Truck may have lost a bid to tap into the Pentagon's $12 billion MRAP program, but subsidiary Pierce Manufacturing has won a small consolation prize: a $4.5 million contract with the Army to deliver 10 "water tender vehicles" (read: firetrucks).
That deal could lead to an order worth $56 million down the road.
