What the hell is this all about?
These were the results of the NW's online poll to the question: Is it time for Oshkosh to consider a new form of city government? (with 267 faithful readers diligently replying)
70%?
Call me old fashioned, but I generally tend to think that dissatisfaction with local government can be remedied by electing more competent people to office.
But when the angry mob does pick up the pitchforks and torches in an effort to storm City Hall, I think that moment might be Gordon Doule's time to shine. Then we might actually be able to have "constitutional" form of municipal government that would presumably include a Mayor with war powers, a bicameral common council, and a strict constructionist judiciary that adheres to an orginalist interpretation of the law as outlined by the Book of Leviticus.
It's just a thought.
