The mayor of Baltimore during the time that inspired many of the events in the show talks about his city.
Just in case you were curious, the current "mayor of Baltimore" in the Wire's mythology, Tommy Carcetti, looks an awful lot like Baltimore's former mayor (and Maryland's current Governor) Martin O'Malley, though the show's creator says Carcetti is a composite character of which O'Malley is simply a part.
