Canadian Cops Get into Graffiti

This seems like an interesting law enforcement strategy. I don't know how effective it is or how well the neighbors enjoy this strategy, but it is interesting.

The Vancouver police have taken to using graffiti to dissuade would-be car thieves from stealing cars.

Obviously this has rankled the graffiti artist community, who have traditionally adopted an adversarial posture to police departments -- especially the vandal squads -- as part of their subculture (the "cop tag!" in the picture is likely not part of the 0riginal).
