Navistar International Corp. said late Thursday that the U.S. Marine Corps awarded the Warrenville truck- and engine-maker a $71.5 million contract to provide parts support for the mine-resistant vehicles Navistar supplies to the military.
Navistar has in recent months received orders from the Pentagon -- through the Marine Corps -- for a total of 1,971 mine-resistant ambush protected, or MRAP, vehicles. The value of those contracts is slightly over $1 billion.
