* CHANDLER, Ariz.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ArmorWorks, a leading provider of advanced survivability products, today announced the receipt of an initial $5 million order from BAE Systems for blast attenuating seats to be installed in BAE’s Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. The seats incorporate ArmorWorks’ ShockRide® energy attenuating seating system which the company introduced to the defense community in February 2007. This order provides for ArmorWorks’ lifesaving seating system to be installed in more than 400 MRAP vehicles to be used by the US Army and US Marines Corps.

* Minnesota Wire & Cable Co.*, Saint Paul, Minn., is being awarded a $7,430,346 indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity/firm-fixed-price contract (N65236-07-D-6362) to deliver cable assemblies to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Charleston, Tactical C2 Engineering Division. The cable assemblies will support the US Marine Corps, Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected (MRAP) Vehicle program. Work will be performed in Saint Paul, Minn. and is expected to be completed by August 2008. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured with proposals solicited via the SPAWAR e-Commerce Central website, with 13 offers received. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity (N65236-07-D-6362).

* IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. today announced that its Tecstar Automotive Group was awarded a major contract by Force Protection, Inc. of Ladson, South Carolina to provide engineering design and production support for its Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Cheetah vehicle series. Force Protection recently announced the purchase of a new 430,000 square foot facility in Roxboro, North Carolina to expand its production capacity for current and future products, including the Cheetah vehicle line.

* IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Force Protection Inc. has contracted Tecstar Automotive Group to provide support for the company's Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Cheetah vehicle series.

Tecstar Automotive Group is a subsidiary of U.S. Army and automotive contractor Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. Under the contract Tecstar will provide engineering and production support for Force Protection's MRAP Cheetah vehicle at the company's new 430,000 square foot facility in Roxboro, N.C.
