Anyone Else Out There Believe Barack Obama was Elected Just Because He's Black?

The "Our negro has principles while your negro just has teh black" strikes me as missing the point entirely for some reason.

The Old Broad:
Well, you see, the thing is……we don’t care what color a person is, we care about his/her politics. There is a big difference between electing a guy as POTUS JUST because of his skin color, and choosing a guy to lead because of his stand on policies.
Cathy Stepp:
He was elected for his beliefs, not his color. How refreshing.
Anyone else want on this train? It's going straight to Obsolescence.

First off, it's Ol.....not old! And second, yes, he was elected because he was black. He had NO record to run on.

Let me ask you, with a NON record, would a white man have been elected? Nope. I don't see that happening. Cathy has her opinion, I have mine. If she believes he was elected on the issues, fine. I do not.

And I'll repeat what I said in my own post. I don't care what color his skin is, or is not. I DO care about principles.

@Kate ...

And if Sarah Palin had been elected? Oh yeah, she had experience shooting moose.

Anyway, I did not vote for Obama because of his skin color.

What does that make you?

And lastly ...

Let me ask you, with a NON record, would a white man have been elected?

Bush comes to mind. He was governor for, ulimately, the same amount of time that Obama was senator. Previously, he failed at everything he tried, or was propped up by his daddy's rich friends.

Furthermore, he is incurious, inarticulate, was a drunkard, and is a mean-spirited individual who laughed at the fate of a woman sentence to die and couldn't care less that his policies in Iraq had been proven so wrong and so deadly.

As opposed to an individual who worked his way up. Actually studied in school. Involved himself in neighborhood programs to help others. Ran for office and was successful without the help of rich friends.

And, he was able to articulate a vision for the country he loves (not uses).

I'll bet you voted for Bush -- twice. Yeah, I'm sorry -- you're right. He was an eminently qualified white person. *snark*

Wow. The BDS just never ends, does it!

Actually, I voted for him FOUR times. He was an extremely competent governor of Texas, and quite popular. I will admit, I became disillusioned with him after the 2004 election.

Sarah Palin was eminently more qualified than Obama, but she wasn't running for POTUS, was she.

Are you sure BO studied in school? Have you seen any record of that? I sure haven't. Won't allow them to be released. Kind of odd, don't you think?

You keep right on drinking that Kool Aid. One of these days, you might find it filled with arsenic. And no, that's not a threat. It's a prediction. You will become disillusioned with your messiah when he can't walk on water.

"was a drunkard" Nice. If ya want to nail Bush cause he quit drinking, be fair.

From Dreams of My Father by Barrack Obama:

"Junkie. Pothead. That's where I'd been headed: the final, fatal role of the young would-be black man. . . . I got high [to] push questions of who I was out of my mind."

and

"Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though"

Now who's been drinking Kool Aid? And Kate, why is it BDS when it is the truth?

Not even a good try.

When I see truth, I'll let you know. And, when it comes to experience, Palin was more qualified. All you have to do is take a look at who BHO has nominated for cabinet posts, and you can tell he has NO idea what he's doing.

Yes, BDS still runs rampant. It might be amusing, if it wasn't so pathetically sad.
