“Oshkosh's best blogger …”
"Best New Oshkosh Blog … The mysterious “JB” was a frequent commenter on other local blogs and the Northwestern Forums before finally realizing that he made sense more than everyone else … [H]e always seems to find amusing things to share with his readers. I check his site daily, twice, to see what he’s got to say."
“… has an amazing sense of humor and seems to be grounded in reality.”
“… a fine and frequently raucous political blog expounding on many questions both national and local.”
"... my man."

Nice.
But I do agree. After years of this "life" I am quite sure that there is nothing either good or bad, but Humans make it so. Meaning of course that anonymity can be equally good or bad depending ONLY on the intent and character of the person wielding it.
I guess (there are signs) that this is a personal issue for you ;) But on this blog the anonymity is actually 100% a "positive". It compliments and strengthens the content and "tone" by removing personality, reputation, life roles, social obligations and connections, and even physical attractiveness/charisma which is sometimes a factor IMO (more typically with females I guess, tho' it seems that when it comes to "attractiveness" in the political world the bar is set pretty low).
To the point - I think I would be disappointed if you "revealed" yourself, or if someone forcibly pulled you out of the closet. As it is now, when reading what you write here we can't go down those too-familiar paths of "why did he say that" or "of COURSE he said that! the Bastard!" and wondering (or knowing) who your friends are, and just doing all the general agenda-deciphering readers have to do these days. That keeps emphasis on the words and content itself, their own merits.
And you come off as pretty Zen most of the time, so you're either a self-controlled type by nature or the anonymity helps maintain the Somewhat-Removed-Observer tone. Whichever, it works here.
So -
*salutes* Ignore the Fat Sad Sack Pussies and maintain position. Sir!
Ah, "The Chief"... such a ray of sunshine in my afternoon. :)
